From the intersection of W. Ken Caryl Ave. and S. Pierce St., head south
on S. Pierce St. to W. Canyon Ave. Turn left on W. Canyon Ave. 1/3 mile
to the park. The park is located at W. Canyon Ave. and S. Kendall Blvd.
Park in the Columbine Hills parking lot across the street.

Park Description
This park is primarily a baseball complex featuring 2 baseball/softball fields,
however, there is a volleyball court and picnic shelter located north of the
SJCD South drainage. The Massey Draw Regional Trail meanders next to the
drainage as it runs through the park.

Comments: The trail begins at The Columbine Trail, a regional trail that
parallels S. Platte Canyon Dr. from W. Bowles Ave. south to Chatfield
State Park. From the Columbine Trail, the Massey Draw Regional Trail
heads west through Columbine Hills Park, Columbine Sports Park, and
Wayside Meadows Park and ends at S. Wadsworth Blvd. The trail parallels
the SJCD South drainage the entire distance. There are no designated
trailheads but the parking lot at Columbine Hills Park is an excellent
starting point.
Park History
This park has evolved as a dedicated baseball complex utilized primarily
by local sports associations. The park was originally named "Columbine
Hills Greenbelt" before the athletic facilities were developed. The
Massey Draw Regional Trail was constructed in 1980 with funding
assistance from Jefferson County Open Space.
