Questions regarding YOUTH dance classes
Q: My child is registered in a ballet class. Where can I buy ballet shoes/slippers?
A: Walmart, Payless Shoe Source, or any professional dance wear shop.
Q: My child is registered in a ballet class. Where can I find a leotard and/or tights?
A: Target, Walmart, or any professional dance wear shop. (Like Penny-Robin Dancewear located in Downtown Littleton
Q: Can boys attend ballet and/or hip hop classes and what should they wear?
A: Yes, we welcome boys into our classes. For Ballet, boys can wear black sweat pants with a white t-shirt and black ballet shoes.
Q: What should my child wear for Hip Hop class?
A: Loose, comfortable clothing and tennis shoes or jazz/ballet shoes. NO jeans or open-toed shoes please.
Questions regarding ADULT dance classes
Q: Are partners required for dance classes?
A: Each class indicates whether a partner is needed or not. Some dance classes are designed specifically for partners to learn together, where some are designed for individuals to learn dance moves that they can apply with any partner. If you sign up with a partner for a class that does not require a partner, such as Ballroom Dance, you will not necessarily dance with that person solely.
Q: What kind of shoes and clothes should I wear for an adult dance class?
A: Please see the list below to help answer the question
- Hip Hop – tennis shoes or jazz shoes, comfortable clothing that is easy to move in
- Ballroom/40’s Swing/Salsa/West Coast Swing/Country Swing – leather soled shoes are best, comfortable clothing that is easy to move in
- Belly Dance – jazz shoes, socks or no shoes, comfortable clothing that is easy to move in
- Adult Ballet – comfortable clothing that is easy to move in (i.e. yoga pants, t-shirt) or the full ballet attire of a leotard, ballet shoes and tights.
