Edge Skating School

Learn to Skate
at the Edge Skating School
Edge Skating School offers the United States Figure Skating basic skills program. Our highly qualified professional staff teach the fundamentals and foundations of ice skating. Each successive level continues to build upon the skater’s ability and techniques. Classes are separated by age and skill level. Testing will be conducted at the end of each session. Practice time included on a 6-punch public skate session card.

CLASS FOCUS
Snow Plow Sam
ages 3-5
• Helmet & Gloves Recommended
The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help preschool age skaters develop preliminary coordination and strength maneuvers on the ice.
Basic 1 - 8
ages 6-16
• Helmet & Gloves Recommended
The 8 Basic Skills levels teach the fundamentals of the sport and introduce the basic moves: forward & backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns and Mohawks. Each level has a pre-requisite of the previous level.
Free Skate 1 - 6
ages 6 and older
Free Skate level is divided into four sections: Moves in the Field, Spins, Dance/Footwork Sequence and Jumps. Each level has a pre-requisite of the previous level.
Adult 1 - 4
ages 17 and older
The Adult curriculum is designed for the beginner adult skater. It will promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating technique. Each level has a pre-requisite of the previous level. After Adult 4, adults may sign up for the Free Skate levels.
Synchronized Skating
ages 6 and older
Synchronized skating levels are a fun introduction to the five basic elements in synchronized skating. Each level has a pre-requisite of the previous level.
