Cheerleading
Learn skills that you will need to try out for the cheerleading squad. Classes are designed to
teach the basics of cheerleading in a non competitive recreation program. You will have the opportunity
to learn a routine set to music in preparation for try outs. You will be able to walk into tryouts with
complete confidence. You can also sign up just to have fun cheering! Participants will learn simple cheers
and/or more advanced routines, depending on skill level. We offer:

Spirits I
This fun filled class is designed for those with a desire to learn the basics and have fun learning a cheerleading
routine. Participants will learn angles, jumps, basic tumbling and simple cheers.

Spirits II
This class focuses on the basic stunts, for example, the thigh stand and shoulder sit, and the basics in tumbling
such as roundoffs and work up to back walkovers. Participants will be learning more advanced routines including
more complex motions and jumps.

Adaptive Cheerleading
Beginning Fall 2010 - Our adaptive cheerleading class is designed for adults and youths with physical or mental challenges.
Participants will be taught basic stunts and fun cheers. They will also have the opportunity to cheer at Foothills Adaptive Baseball Games!

Middle School Sports Cheerleading Program
Middle School Sports Cheerleading Program
Foothills Park & Recreation District offers an after school cheer program at Deer Creek, Falcon Bluffs,
Ken Caryl and Summit Ridge Middle Schools. Show your school spirit by cheering at your middle schools
home Flag Football and/or Basketball games. You will learn basic jumps, tumbling, dance and angles.
Then put it all together to create cheers to represent your school. This is a great step to get
practice and experience in order to try out for your high school cheerleading squad.
