Foothills taking applications for vacant board seat

The Foothills Park & Recreation District is accepting applications for a vacancy on its Board of Directors.

Board member John Bradley Jr. resigned his Ward 4 seat on September 2, 2016 because he no longer owns property in the district. Bradley is planning to move to Loveland.

Ward 4 primarily includes an area south of West Bowles Avenue between South Kipling Parkway and South Pierce Street north of West Chatfield Avenue. Click here to view the wards map.

“We’re sad that John is going off the board, but we’re excited for him and his new chapter in life and we’re really appreciative of the six and a half years of service he’s provided to the District as a Board member,” said Foothills Executive Director Ronald Hopp. “He’s been an excellent board member, and we’ve accomplished a lot as a District under his leadership”

Hopp credited Bradley with the implementation of many District programs and being an advocate for staff. Bradley was in the middle of his second term. He was originally elected in 2010, re-elected in 2014, and his current term was set to expire in 2018.

According to State Law, the Board has 60 days to appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of his term. However, the Board would like to appoint a replacement as soon as possible, hoping to have a new Board member in place for the September 27th Board meeting.

Residents or property owners in Ward 4 interested in the position should contact Ronald Hopp at rhopp@fhprd.org. The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, September 14, 2016.
