School Age Programs and Camps

School Age Programs and Camps give children the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, science experiments, cooking, board games, gross motor activities, dramatic play, manipulative games, field trips, homework support, construction projects and free play.

Foothills Park & Recreation District is closely monitoring the JeffCo Restart Plan. 

When schools return to session, Foothills is planning to provide before and after care programming. Registration for before and after school care for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year is scheduled to open on August 24.

Before & After School Program

Our staff is qualified, trained, educated and dedicated to providing quality programs. We are devoted to providing safe, healthy, fun, recreational and educational opportunities for children.

Foothills Before & After School Programs for children in Kindergarten – 6th grades operates Monday through Friday in various locations from 6:45am until school commences and from school dismissal until 6:00pm. We offer a nutritious afternoon snack and include homework time for students.

Foothills offers full day care at our recreation centers during no school days, minimal contact days and school breaks. Specialized activities for the students include swimming, dance, ice skating, cooking, gymnastics and gym use.

Enrollment Information

An annual non-refundable Enrollment Fee ($60/child or $80/family) is required at time of enrollment. Annual Enrollment Fee covers programming from June 1 to May 31. Parents or guardians are encouraged to read the Parent Handbook for program and enrollment policies.

Parents will also be required to submit the following, prior to child’s attendance:

  • Immunization Records for each child,
  • Physician’s Report for children ages 7 and under only,
  • Permission for Administration of Medication if necessary.

Enrollment and payment is completed online using SchoolCare Works Family Portal (use the buttons below). Parents can register for care, schedule attendance calendars and even view or pay billing statements online using this secure portal. This secure site is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere with an internet connection.

Summer Camps & Childcare

We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has created a lot of uncertainty around childcare plans. Foothills Park & Recreation District has developed an operational plan to offer essential summer childcare programs in the most responsible and safe manner. Staff have created a fun summer curriculum to keep kids entertained and engaged while practicing social distancing.

for ages entering 5th-8th grades
Calling all sports fans! If your middle school child is a sports nut in the making, this is the perfect camp. Your MVP will participate in a variety of sports and competitive games including flag football, spikeball, kickball, ladderball, bocce, ultimate Frisbee, and more!  Your child can sharpen his or her skills, take part in creative drills, and learn how to be a valuable team player. During the course of this one-week program, our experienced staff will be there to help lead and support youth as they play competitively while having fun.
Choose from a 3-hour morning or afternoon session, or sign up for both and spend the day with us. This program is for youth entering 5th-8th grades. Programs operate 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and/or 12:00-3:00 p.m. Program is offered at the Foothills Fieldhouse. Sign up for one week at a time, or all summer!
  • $100/week for ½ day (3-hour session) or $200/week for full day (6 hour session)
  • A $25 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per session will be required at the time of enrollment. Deposits will apply towards total tuition cost
  • Tuition Payments for each month are due at the beginning of each month, beginning on June 15th for June, and then on the 1st of each month for that month of care.

for ages 5 – entering 6th grades
We are offering a Monday-Friday full day option (6:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) for students age 5 – entering 6th grade at the following locations: Lilley Gulch Recreation Center, Ridge Recreation Center and Foothills Fieldhouse.
This program is for the duration of the entire summer. We are not offering part-time options, partial week options or partial month options. The cost for this program is $790/month, payment will be due on the 1st day of each month. (There will be an additional $60/child or $80/family enrollment fee applied to all new families at the time of enrollment). Families with two or more children in childcare will receive a 5% second child discount on this rate. Childcare will be an ongoing program through the next several months. Children will be enrolled for ongoing care and parents will be billed monthly. If COVID-19 related issues arise, we will work with families to provide credits or refunds.
  • Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.
  • Parents should register if they intend to start within the upcoming week.
  • Children may start 2 business days after enrollment is received.
  • Parents needing future care should wait to register until care is needed or be prepared to pay to hold a child’s spot.

Childcare will operate with the following measures in place:

  • This is a licensed childcare program following all state mandates regarding COVID-19.
  • Social distancing will be enforced.
  • Each group of children will be assigned to the same staff throughout the entire summer, to the highest extent possible.
  • We will conduct daily health checks and temperature screenings with staff and children before allowing entry into the facility.
  • Staff will be required to wear masks.
  • Families will be asked to provide a mask for their child every day.
  • Frequent handwashing and sanitizing will be enforced.
  • Parents will be limited to curbside pick-up and drop off and will be asked to wear masks when interacting with staff. Parents and guardians will not be entering the facilities.
  • Children will be encouraged to bring some individual supplies to reduce sharing
  • Parents will be required to provide water bottles, snacks, lunches and sunscreen for children.
  • Children will stay on site or participate in walking field trips around the facility. At this time we will not participate in off-site field trips or swimming.
