Foothills Park & Recreation District offers a wide variety of fitness and wellness opportunities. Our goal is to fulfill the physical needs of our patrons by providing classes that are geared for all fitness levels and abilities. A variety of class types and levels targeting cardiovascular, flexibility, balance and strength for ages 15+. Whether you are a new exerciser or an athlete with advanced abilities, we’ve got a class for you led by our nationally-certified fitness staff.

Land Fitness – group exercise classes led by certified Group Fitness Instructor

Aqua Fitness – group fitness classes in the pools led by certified Aqua Fitness Instructors

Performance Training – advanced high intensity group training classes led by Certified Strength & Conditioning Coaches or Personal Trainers

Connect, Breathe, Move!  Designed to bring your entire being into balance with a variety of  mind-body centered and focused  classes.  Offered in formats that are easy to follow and encourage participation for all levels.

Mind Body Drop-in Classes are offered on an ongoing basis and do not require advance registration. Classes include:  Tai Chi, willPower & grace®, and Yoga formats: Weekend Zen Yoga, Restorative Flow Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Yoga for All Levels.

  • Outdoor seasonal offering at Clement Park

  • Pilates Reformer: performed on specialized equipment, these classes use mindful movement sequences and controlled breathing techniques to elicit new patterns of movement in the body. (NOTE: first time participants must attend a Pilates Fundamentals Orientation)

Group Training Classes

Looking to find an economical way to work with a trainer for your individual needs and goals? These small group classes offer:

  • Guidance of a Certified Personal Trainer in a group setting
  • Individual attention and coaching in a comfortable team environment.

Strength, Conditioning and Performance

From basic form and fundamentals coaching to advanced skill development and sport specific training, participants will:

  • gain a competitive edge
  • develop sport specific conditioning and skills
  • enhance performance

Drop-In Options

Performance Training Classes (Ages 15+)
Advanced group training classes use a variety of training methods to improve energy, increase functional skills and abilities, and more! (Examples: Bootcamps and HI-Cross)

Open Performance Training (Ages 9+)*
Open gym time to work out on your own – certified strength & conditioning coach available for assistance & recommendations.

  • Open Performance Training Mulit Visit Card: (12 visits: $100)

*Cardio/Weight Room Policy – for Youth (ages 9-15)

Youth ages 9-15 can get certified to use our cardio weight rooms in 3 simple steps!

  1. Pass the Youth Cardio/Weight Room Test (can be taken at any front desk for free)
  2. Submit a signed authorization waiver (completed by parent/guardian)
  3. Enjoy use of our facilities

Upon completion of above steps, the following rules apply:

  • Ages 9-12: may use the Cardio/Weight Rooms WHILE UNDER SUPERVISION OF AN ADULT (15 yrs. +)
  • Ages 13-15: may use the Cardio/Weight Rooms independently

Please note: Youth under age 9 are NOT permitted in cardio/weight room area.


Registration Classes

  • Youth Strength, Conditioning & Performance Classes – ages 9-18 (example: Sports Performance 101)

Chronic Condition Exercise Programs

Defer the Disease Chronic Conditions Programs
We offer evidence-based exercise programs led by skilled instructors to improve quality of life and functional abilities for a variety of chronic conditions including: We provide defined classes and training options led by skilled instructors to improve health, regain stamina, and delay and/or diminish signs and symptoms at any stage of dysfunction.  This total health program includes:

  • Pre & Post Assessments
  • Introductory Individual Personal Training Session
  • Full 3-month facility membership
  • Admission to all Drop-in Fitness classes
  • Specialized training services designed to meet specific individual needs and conditions. Dates, times, and exercise formats vary depending on the participants level of skill and function.

To get started, please complete the Defer the Disease Paperwork Packet and contact our fitness staff at 303-409-2114 to schedule an assessment time.

Class options may include the following components:

  • CancerFit®: appropriate for adult cancer survivors at any stage, focus on getting back to being you in a healthy, positive, non-intimidating environment. (offered twice/week)
  • NeuroFit®: appropriate for individuals with Parkinson Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia and/or other neurological challenges. Targets improvements in physical, attentional, cognitive, and emotional realms. (offered twice/week)
  • NeuroFit® Pilates**: designed to target Neurological conditions listed above, this class is conducted on Pilates reformers.  Focus is on exercises to improve mobility, core strength, and stability by changing the neuromuscular pathways used in movement. (offered three times/week)
  • Vitally Fit®: designed for individuals with any chronic disease or condition that affects the body’s ability to maintain cardiovascular health, muscular strength, joint range of motion, and mobility/balance. (offered twice/week)

Additional Fitness Classes and offerings may also be appropriate for individuals with Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Multiple Sclerosis, and other joint/musculoskeletal issues.  Please contact our fitness staff at 303-409-2114 to discover options that best suit your needs.
