Our Active Adult Programs offer a variety of opportunities for everyone! Join us and experience what a balanced blend of mental, social and physical wellness is all about!

Enjoy a variety of fun events for all adults including our favorite events listed below!

Excursions

Experience interesting locations in Colorado without having to drive! Registration price always includes transportation. Prices vary based on activity.

  • Thursday, July 16: Terry Bison Ranch, WY: Train Ride, Bison Experience, Lunch.
  • Sunday, July 26: Fairplay, Burro Days Festival.
  • Friday, July 31: DCPA, “The Sound of Music.”
  • Wednesday, August 5: Balistreri Vineyards: Tour, Lunch and Wine Tasting.
  • Saturday, August 15: Yetman Farms, Pick Your Own Flower Bouquet & Breakfast at Fox Hollow Golf Course.  
  • Saturday, August 22: Summer Sunset Concert and America 250/Colorado 150 Drone Show. Bring your own picnic dinner.
  • Thursday, August 27: Leather Handcrafting Workshop at Ember & Stitch in the Sante Fe Art District in Denver – make your own jewelry tray from scratch.
  • Wednesday, September 2: Colorado Railbike Adventure & Lunch
  • Friday, September 11: Dazzle Jazz Throwback Friday: Billy Joel

Special Events & Activities

Registration is required for all events and activities, even if promoted as being free. Prices vary based on activity.

Health Presentation

  • Friday, August 14: Free – Alzheimer’s Association, “Communicating Effectively and Dealing with Dementia Related Behaviors.”

Lunch & Learn Presentations

  • Monday, July 27: Jeffco Sheriff: Wildland Fire Management
  • Monday, August 31: Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies, “Parkinson’s Disease”
  • Monday, September 28: “Fraud” presented by Colorado Credit Union.
  • Monday, October 26: “Behind the Scenes in the Coroner’s Office” presented by Layla Fitch, Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office
  • Monday, November 30: “History of Toys” presented by Active Minds, combined with Foothills’ Toy Drive for CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin counties. Optional: donate an unwrapped toy for a child 0-12 years old
  • No Lunch & Learn in December. Lunch and Learns return January 25, 2027

Events & Activities

  • Friday, August 7: Social Event: Legendary Ladies & Dinner, to celebrate America’s 250th and Colorado’s 150th anniversaries.
  • Friday, October 2: FREE Event – Annual Active Adult Open House. Free lunch (with registration), trishaw rides, hearing screening, sponsors and more!  If you do not want to eat the lunch, walk-ins are welcome, no registration necessary.  Register only if you want lunch.
  • Friday, November 6: Social Event – Casino Royale.  Come as a solo agent or with your field office!  “Casino” games, James Bond trivia, dinner and beverages included with registration.  No money needed, chips provided.

Classes

Learn to Play Mahjongg, two-day classes:

  • Tuesday, July 21 and Friday, July 24
  • Tuesday, September 15 and Friday, September 18.
  • Tuesday, October 13 and Friday, October 16.

Visiting Nurses Association’s Foot Clinic

  • There is no registration for this clinic. You MUST call 303-698-6496 to sign up.
  • Price is $55 or insurance.
  • Held the first Tuesday of each month from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Peak Community & Wellness Center.

Clubs

Monthly participation price, per club of $5 (non-district $7), to view the seasonal date span for each club and to register online, use the button below.

  • Book Club, meets once monthly: third Thursday of each month, 1 – 3:30 pm
    • May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20, September 17, October 15, November 19, December 17
  • Bridge, Party Bridge played: Tuesdays, 1 – 4 pm
  • Hand, Knee & Foot Card Game: Tuesdays, 1 – 4 pm
  • Helpful Hands Knitting & Crochet: Fridays, 10 am – 12 pm
  • Mahjongg: Wednesdays 1 – 4 pm

Extended Travel

Travel with a group of 55+ year old travelers from Foothills Active Adults Program to various destinations. Whether you’re a party of one or many, these trips are tailored for group travel geared specifically for older adults (55+).

Extended Travel Informational Meetings

Learn details of each trip including daily itinerary, deposit, important dates and more.  This is an opportunity to ask all the questions you have about each trip.
