Park Description
This is a large non-irrigated park featuring extensive prairie habitat and limited park development.  The trail begins at The Columbine Trail , a regional trail that parallels S. Platte Canyon Dr. from W. Bowles Ave. south to Chatfield State Park. From the Columbine Trail, the Massey Draw Regional Trail heads west through Columbine Hills Park, Columbine Sports Park, and Wayside Meadows Park and ends at S. Wadsworth Blvd. The trail parallels the SJCD South drainage the entire distance.There are no designated trailheads but the parking lot at Columbine Hills Park is an excellent starting point.

Park Amenities
Playground, baseball field (non-irrigated field),a basketball court (half court), covered picnic table, and a few park benches located along the trail.

The Massey Draw Regional Trail runs through the park.

Park History
This park was acquired through Senate Bill 35 land dedications with the development of the Columbine Knolls South Subdivision in the late 1970s.

Directions To Park
Wayside Meadows Park is a large park. Directions are to the playground area. From the intersection of S. Pierce St. and W. Chatfield Ave., head north on S. Pierce St. to W. Elmhurst Ave. Turn left on W. Elmhurst Ave. and travel a few blocks to the park. There is no parking lot and we suggest parking on W. Elmhurst Ave.
