This is an irrigated bluegrass park tucked in the Lakehurst Subdivision. The park is located adjacent to Harriman Lake Park. Harriman Lake Park can be accessed from Lakehurst Park via a trailhead on west side of Surrey Dr. The trailhead is located 100 yards west of Surrey along the fence line that separates Lakehurst Park from Harriman Lake Park.
Picnic shelter and playground. Note: Both the shelter and the playground are located on the west side of Surrey Drive. From Surrey Dr., walk down the narrow perimeter sidewalk on the south side of the park frontage. You will come to the shelter first. Continue down the path to the extreme west end of the park to reach the playground.
There are no designated trails at Lakehurst, but the narrow concrete perimeter sidewalks around both the east and west sections of the park offer a nice one-mile loop. As noted above, a spur trail to Harriman Lake Park is located on the west side of Surrey Drive.
Most of the park was deeded to Foothills in 1963. Park development began in 1964 with assistance from the Lakehurst Subdivision developer. A third parcel of land was deeded to Foothills in 1966.
