2019 Improvement Projects

Columbine Trail


Improvements description: trail repair and replacement

Temporary User Impact: some areas will be restricted during repair/replacement, specific dates TBA

Anticipated completion: 2019

History: the trail originated in the early 1980’s, Foothills took over management of sections of the trail in 2003 from Jefferson County Open Space

Chaucer Park


Improvements description: replace irrigation, additional improvements will be determined through community outreach

Anticipated completion: 2019

History: Foothills acquired the park in 1984.  The playground was replaced in August 2018.

Dakota Station Park


Improvements description: replace irrigation, resurface tennis courts.

Trappers Glen Park

Valley View Park

Lilley Gulch Recreation Center – Fitness Equipment Replacement


Improvements description: replace weight stacks and free weights in cardio/weight room

Details: replacing equipment keeps the facility updated with what is popular in the fitness industry

Project completed: March 2019

History: Foothills opened this facility in 1982 with some portions of the building remodeled in 2004

Meadows Golf Club – Parking Lot


Improvements description: repair parking lot

Temporary User Impact: weather permitting, some areas will be restricted during repairs scheduled September 23 – October 31, 2019 – see map and dates

Anticipated completion: 2019

History: Foothills opened this facility in 1984

Ridge Recreation Center – Pool Improvement


Improvements description: replace play feature in leisure/activity pool

Details: the feature is an original component of the pool and parts for repair/replacement are no longer available

Project completed: August 2019

History: Foothills opened this facility in 2003

Schaefer Athletic Complex – Batting Cages


Improvements description: conduct improvements to the equipment and the batting cage facility

Temporary User Impact: site will be closed for the season on 9/30/2019

Anticipated completion: March 2020

History: Foothills acquired the batting cages from the original operator in 2005
